Vivekananda Bala Vikas Kendra Shraddha Camp - A total personality development course was conducted for students from 4th to 10th classes for a month from 5th July 2021 to 5th Aug 2021. Vivekananda Institute of Human Excellence has been successfully conducting these camps from past 15 years which is an amazing journey to experience by the blessings and Guidance of Swami Bodhamayananda ji Maharaj, Director VIHE and Revered Swami Jnanadananda ji Maharaj, Adhyaksha Ramakrishna Math Hyderabad. Due to pandemic restrictions, it was conducted online.
Every morning, we had yoga classes from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. which made us active for the whole day. Every alternate day (i.e. Monday, Wednesday and Friday), Morals and Bhajans classes were conducted which made the atmosphere so pleasant. The Concluding day was conducted on 6th August 2021. The celebrations were initiated by offering flowers at the feet of Holy trio - Shree Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, Shree Maa Sarada Devi and Sri Swami Vivekananda followed by pleasant and beautiful chanting of the Pranam & Shanti Mantras by students of the Bala Vikas Kendra. Anagha from Mythreyi group, Veda Sravya and Hritika Shastry from Nivedita group and the NRI students Shreya and Abhinav recited the mantras.
The students of Balavikas played different roles of Prominent people from Indian History (Subhash Chandra Boss, Sister Nivedita and Chandra Shekhar Azad) and inspired all of us.
Further, we all learnt the journey of a disciple of Shri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, Swami Ramakrishnanda Ji Mj narrated by one of our VIHE volunteer named Pariveeta. Videos were played on the various activities and learnings from the camp. Students also did recitation with yoga which was truly inspiring. This camp had taught us several moral values and activities which imbibed our culture and also made us understand the importance of life. The video included Shubhashitams and yoga with recitation and some beautiful crafts done by students.
This was possible with the blessings of Revered Swami Jnanadanadji Maharaj, Adhyaksha, Ramakrishna Math Hyderabad who told us the importance of the Bala Vikas shraddha camp. The faculty and volunteers encouraged us and also supported us.
The Students of Bala Vikas also performed an act of Swami Vivekananda and his devotee which was played by Sriram and Vivek.
The chief guest for the program was Prof Sri Vishwanadam sir who has taken several courses on personality development and is the most respected faculty of Vivekananda institute of human Excellence. His words were really inspiring and thoughts were worth listening to. Some of his inspiring thoughts that he shared with us are :-
Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life- think of it, dream of it, live on that idea. This is the way to success.
One thing that should be remembered by everyone is :
Physically – more energetic
Mentally - more alert
Intellectually – more inspired
Emotionally – more balanced
Morally – more strengthened
Spiritually – more awakened
Socially – more responsible
The life long burning desire for personality development is:
Quantity – more and more of everything
Quality – best of whatever is available
Variety – more of all the available varieties
Creativity – full of interesting ideas and unleashing imagination
To become a better person, we should particularly focus on:
Effective communication skills
Learning new things with love and confidence
Good habits, as they support good results
We thank Sir for his time and sharing wonderful ideas with us. It had been such a nice recall of things learnt in this course. As Swami Vivekananda says that “believing in others is easy but believing in yourself is a real challenge, so believe in yourself and the whole world is yours”.
Swami Bodhamayananda ji Maharaj thanked the speakers and shared some thought capsules quoting various examples. He addressed the participants covering the following aspects :-
Never pretend, just be natural and be yourself because you are good the way you are.
Arrogance can lead to many unexpected incidents in life. Never have arrogance but instead be an example to the world.
Harming others with words, thoughts and ideas is just like hitting someone, not physically but mentally.
Be thankful to god for things he has given you and thoughts that inspire you. Be accommodative and know how to adjust in times of difficulties and also know that you can do it.
Feedbacks were taken from the NRI students and other students. Parents also gave their feedback. Anagha and Nitya gave their feedbacks on learnings from the camp. Mentimeter survey was conducted to capture the participants feedback.
This was such an amazing journey which made us realize the inherent talent within us and also taught us the basics of life and to know that there is ability to do something, to be something, to achieve something and stay happy. Never forget the sayings of Swamiji “ARISE, AWAKE AND STOP NOT TILL THE GOAL IS REACHED.”
